It will be a goodbye, not a see you later

  Hello everyone! Today is the last time I will write about something about me, I know that sounds very selfish! But I promise this is the last time.

  Today I will share with you some moments of the semester that stood out in a good and bad way. This semester in the university has been very difficult because I really don’t like the subjects that we study and that fact influences the marks that I got, however I think one of the achievements that are important for me it is about being here in Santiago without feeling anxious about being away from my family in Rengo. I know that many people could think this is stupid, but it is an aspect of my life difficult to adapt.

  Now that I think about it, this year has been boring to be told, I meant I got some little achievements about my personals goals about a writer wannabe or a books lover, but this evaluation has to be at the end of the year because I have too many things to get better at.

  I have to be grateful because the fact that nothing new happens to me can be seen from a positive point of view: my family environment is healthy, and always the bad things can be overcome.

  To finish this blog I have to say thank you for reading me! Hopefully it will get me a good mark, also personally I have learned more about English.

My favorite subject

Hey everyone! I can’t believe that only one blog until the end of the course, so I hope you enjoy this two last topics. Let’s begin!

Today I’m going to talk about my favorite subject this semester, but first I’m want to tell you guys the third semester of the career has been very difficult to me, I don’t have a preference for this semester because if I like the subject I don’t like the professor, so this election has been hurting to do. You currently know that my favorite things about Public Administration it’s the political aspects, that’s the reason why I choose the theoretical class called “Estudios de los fenómenos políticos”. I really don’t  know if I like the dynamics with which the teacher teaches the course, however the topics that are taught really attract my attention class to class, especially when analyzed from a historical point of view.

One of the things that have caught my attention  the  most are the multiple anti-democratic practices that are perceived in countries that we call democratic. I recommend to you that you make a search about the concepts of “gerrymandering” or “shirking” in a political context.

The class is about the teacher talking from beginning to end about the theoretical issues, I must be fair to add that he gives spaces to know our opinion on the topics we learn.

Technically I didn't choice with the schedule because all the teachers had the same schedule, in addition to that I didn’t know the references of any of them, I made a random decision.

Call me by your name

A film that I definitely recommend is Call me by your name (2017), a movie of an homosexual romance, winner of multiple awards during the 2017/2018 film season.

The main reason why I like it is that it tells the people a different history that breaks with the traditional parameters of cinema. Also both main characters show an evolution from the beginning to the end: Especially Elio who is the protagonist.

I must also mention that the quality of the film is easy to perceive by all spectators. The shots show the colorful landscapes of Italy in summer; and the perfect adaptation of outfits, hairstyles and music to the context of the 80's.
 I mention quality because I remember the words of an audiovisual teacher who said that a good visual document told the story without too much dialogue, and "Call me by your name" presents the story through the incredible shots of director Luca Guadagnino, without resorting to excessive discourse.

I hope that if you haven’t seen this movie, you do it, because you will find a fascinating story, a well made movie and outstanding performances.

Barack Obama: Influential agent in foreign policy

A character that I consider important in the orientation of my professional career it is Barack Obama, because I think that he marked a before and after in politics.

He was born in Hawaii in 1961. He studied in the universities of Harvard (New York) and Columbia (Massachusetts) with money from roof racks and friend’s loans.  One of his jobs before the policy was professor of constitutional law at the University Of Chicago. He started his political career as an Illinois senator in 1996, being the peak of his path to be elected President of United States of America in 2008.

• His main political landmarks were:
• He has executed several measures in favor of homosexual groups.
• His defense of the women´s role.
• The foreign policy that limits the intricate policy of defense of USA in the word.
• Establish certain restrictions on the use of weapons by civilians.

One of my favorite picture

This picture was taken about six years ago, it is special for me because that was one of the last smiles that my grandpa gave me.

My mother captured the moment in this pic, I remember we were at my house and we were watching a football match on tv, like every saturday that he visited us.  One sitting next to the other, suffering the bad season of our favorite team. Also how he enjoyed drinking his glass of white wine and cheating while we played domino.

In that moment of my life I didn’t appreciate the meaning of being taken a photograph with someone that would seem to last forever.

For me this picture speaks for itself, taking me back to that time with my grandfather, making me feel the happiness I felt by his side.

I have many favorite photos, but I chose this one because it was the one that had more to tell.

My favorite piece of technology

Today I will talk about my favorite piece of technology that is it my tablet. I got my IPad recently this year, but before that I had another tablet for a while.

The frequency that I use it is twice a day usually in the afternoons after college and the nights before I sleep.

In my opinion, I think it’s very useful becasuse it covers all my needs to perform studies activities and recreation. It works better for me compared to a computer or a cellphone: I prefer it over a laptop because it’s very difficult to me understand the way it works and how do I have to do it. I choose it over the phone for the reason that the activities I like to do require the privacy; reading a good novel, watching a movie on Netflix, and the most important thing is when I am writing; without a ring or the sound of a text that interrupts my concentration.

Despite my preference I could live without it but I would have to pay a lot of money for books and start writing in the unfriendly computer system.

Why did I choose this career?

 Administración Pública was one of the hundred options that I had. As a child I liked simple things, things that didn’t require me to go to university: like to be a singer and hair stylist. Through the time I became interested in Literature, Art and Painting. I was told that wasn’t a good option.

After that I considered so many and varied choices, all of them in different areas. I could have been a doctor or detective. But finally; one year after I made a wrong decision: Ingenieria Comercial. I chose this career because it covered various branches of study that I like. This decision makes me feel satisfied and reach my expectations.

Until now I think this is a good option to stablish the foundations of what I want in the future: Get in the Academia Diplomática.

My Autobiography

My Name is María Elena González Calderón. I was born in the little city of Rengo on May 2nd, 1.998. My parents are María Elena and Alfredo; they gave birth to my brother four years before me, his name is Luis.

I started school earlier than other kids. I spent all my education in the same school Colegio Antilen located in the same place where I was born. In 2016 I started my studies in the Universidad Federico Santa Maria, but I couldn't stand to get away from my home, leaving at the second day. One year later I decided to start the career of Administracion Publica at the Universidad de Chile.
